Development Tools Streamline Design
The NET2272, like all PLX interconnect devices, is supported by a PLX Rapid Development Kit (RDK). The NET2272's RDK includes a PCI adapter board that easily plugs into any standard PCI slot (3.3V or 5V). The board effectively converts the PC into a USB peripheral for a rich development environment. Peripheral-side firmware and APIs are also included to easily configure the NET2272 so that it emulates a standard USB-class device, such as a modem, a hard disk or a video device.
Pricing and Availability
The NET2272 in its new packaging is sampling now, with production starting in Q2 of this year. The NET2272, which comes in a lead-free, 64 ball BGA package, is priced at $5.00 in standard 10K annual quantities. The NET2272PCI-RDK is also available now, at $995.
