Compensation

Our company relies on having satisfied, mature, responsible adults as our associates, peers, and ideally, our friends.

The sharing of responsibilities and remuneration is also a key tenant of our business. As a company and as individuals, each of us signs up to commitments to our clients. We think it only fair that our people are compensated for their efforts as is the company.

To this end, every associate at BLT is on an hourly basis. Unlike the traditional salaried engineer that is expected to work far in excess of the 40 hours their compensation is supposed to reflect, BLTs engineers get paid a flat rate for every hour they work.

Many salaried engineers might be reeling a bit at this point. If you're one of them, give this some time to "sink in". We find that people that are "good fits" for BLT like this level of freedom along with matching responsibility.

There are a few limits: A minimum of 30 hours per week from each associate and a recommendation not to exceed 55 hours per week on a sustained basis.

We believe that each person brings his or her own unique set of talents to BLT. While one of us might be better at Telecom or planning, another might excel at Signal Processing or perhaps reporting. In short: we assume we are dealing with a diverse group of peers and that everyone has something to contribute which makes us stronger as a team.
